Meet time 730am for March 9 Epworth tourny

We play at 930am.  We are meeting at 730am so that we can get their and scout a little of our competition.  I am working on getting the pairings added to the blog.

Start Time: Pool Play will begin promptly at 8:00am. Doors will open at 7:15am
Warm Ups: Each team’s first warm up will be a 10 minute (2-4-4) split warm-up. The first 2 minutes will be shared ball handling.
The serving team will get the entire court for the next 4 minutes, followed by the receiving team for the final 4 minutes.
Following each team’s first match the warm up will switch to 6 minutes (3-3) with the first 3 minutes allowed to the serving team
and the last 3 minutes given to the receiving team. There will be NO shared hitting.
*If you are the team reffing please be sure you are following the warm up times and keeping the tournament on
schedule.
Balls: Please bring your own warm up balls. Ball handling will ONLY be allowed in the gym.
Seating: There will be plenty of bleacher seating available. Chairs will not be allowed to be brought into the gym.
Pool Play: Pool play will consist of 2 games to 25 (starting at 4-4), with no cap. The 1 st & 2nd place teams will advance to the
championship bracket. The 3rd and 4th place teams will advance to the consolation bracket. The 5th place team will go home.
Tournament: Tournament play will be best out of 3 to 25 with the deciding game to 15, with no cap.
Playoffs: Your seeding will be based on:
1. Win-Loss record
2. Head to head
3. Total Point differential
4. Coin Toss
*A team will not be sent home on a coin toss. If needed a playoff game will be played to 15 points, with no cap.
Concessions: Western Dubuque High School will provide a full concession stand.
NO OUTSIDE FOOD OR DRINK WILL
Locker Rooms: There will not be locker facilities available. Please do not bring valuables, as Western Dubuque cannot be held
responsible for lost/stolen items.
Admission: $3.00 for adults and $2.00 for 10 and under.
Reminder: All teams must bring their official USA Team Roster if one has not already been sent to the tournament director.
Clothing Sales: There will be various volleyball clothing and equipment for sale the day of the tournament.

There is an EASE and ENTHUSIASM about him.  It is something you can't fake.

Where he excels is ridiculous, sickening work ethic.

When he was hell bent on NOT FAILING, he wasn't as successful as when he LOOSENED up.  He gained confidence when he took more chances and didn't worry about failing.

Don't ever tell yourself there is something you CAN'T do.

Put your head down and lay the first brick.

Cedar Falls Tourny Information


Dear Team Representative and Coaches,

 

Welcome to the 2013 Six Pack Feb 23rd Invitational. The tournament site is on the campus of the University of Northern Iowa. The Wellness & Recreation Center (WRC) on the corner of Hudson Rd & 22nd Street is the building adjacent to the UNI-Dome to the north.

The format will be pool play followed by bracket play. Please check the tournament schedule for the particulars relating to your division. Pool play will consist of matches 2 of 3 to 25 with deciding game to 15. All sets are decided by 2 points (no cap). The top two teams advance to championship bracket and the bottom two teams will advance to Consolation bracket. Again, check your schedule to determine the exact tournament format. Standard tie-breaker system will apply. (1. Match/Set %, 2. Head-to-Head 3. Point % 4. Coin Toss) Reminder positioning in championship or consolation can be determined by point percentage, but teams WILL NOT be sent home based on point percentage. Tournament format will be best 2 of 3 sets to 25 points, deciding game to 15. All sets are decided by 2 points (no cap).

 

Please check your schedule for the match start time of your pool. You will have 10 minutes to warm up before your 1st match of the day (2 minutes shared ball handling, 4 minutes for serving team, 4 minutes for receiving team). After that, there will be six minutes between matches (3 minutes for serving team, 3 minutes for receiving team). IF YOU ARE THE OFFICIATING TEAM FOR THE NEXT MATCH, BE PROMPT IN STARTING WARM-UPS FOR THE MATCH! Timers will be provided for the officiating teams this year to make sure warm-ups don’t run too long.

 

There will be a $1 admission charge for spectators. Concession information and site rules are listed on your playing schedules. Plug in appliances are NOT allowed at any site. We ask you to inform your parents of these team camp rules as we know they are the ones providing their daughters with the team camps.

 

We are guests and lucky to be able to use these fine facilities, please clean up at the end of the day. Anyone with a cooler in the gym will be asked to leave the facility.

 

We will be at the tournament site at 7:00 AM to begin checking in teams. Line-up sheets will be passed out to each team during check in. We have more than 40 teams participating, so please show up promptly to take care of those administrative duties.
